- What is KIST SSB Debit Card? Ans: Kist SSB Debit Card is a plastic Card that can be used in Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point Of Sales (POS) terminals accepting SCT Cards . The Card is operative by PIN number also known as numeric password.
- Why KIST SSB Debit Card? Ans: KIST is providing Self service banking (SSB) to its esteem customers through Kist SSB Card in collaboration with Smart Choice Technologies (SCT).It provides the following facilities:-

- Competitive issuance fee and cash withdrawal charges

- How often can I use My Card? Ans: You can use your card upto 20 times not exceeding the total limit of Rs. 50,000/- in a day. You can withdraw maximum of Rs.16,000/- in one transaction.
- Who Can Apply for the Card? Ans: We issue card for all individuals in his/ her name meeting following criteria: Person(s) having single/ savings account with any branch of the bank excluding minors, joint and current account holders.
- How Can I Collect the Card? Ans: Fill up and submit Kist bank SSB (Self service banking) application form to the customer service department of any branch of the bank at your convenience. You can then collect it from any branch of the bank.
- What are the benefits of having the KIST debit card? Ans: Debit card provides you the facilities of cash withdrawal and balance inquiry. You do not need to carry money for shopping. You can purchase goods and services from all merchant locations accepting SCT logo cards. Several other benefits will be attached in the days to come.
- Can Minor Apply for the Card? Ans: No, minor cannot apply for the card.
- We have joint account with the bank. Can we get separate cards for each of us? Ans: Joint account holders cannot enjoy the right of using debit card.
- What are the charges involved in the debit card? Ans:
- What are the charges for balance enquiry? Ans: For balance enquiry at Kist ATM machine no charge is applicable where as at other SCT and non SCT member bank ATM's, Rs. 3 will be charged.
- Where can we use the KIST card? Ans: You can use the Kist card in all SCT and VISA ATM counters.
- Can I use the card in India / third country? Ans: KIST card can be used only in Nepal.
- What are the major features of an ATM transaction? Ans: The current features of ATM are as follows:
- Maximum withdrawal per day: NPR 50,000.
- Maximum withdrawal frequency per day 20 times.
- Maximum withdrawal per transaction: NPR 16,000.
- Minimum withdrawal per transaction:500.
- What are the major features of Point of Sales (POS) transaction? Ans: All POS transactions are free of charge
- Cards can be used in all merchant establishments accepting SCT cards.
- Maximum purchase per day NPR 50,000/-
- When will I receive my card and pin? Ans: You will receive the card and PIN together. You can collect your card after 10 working days from the date of application.
- What happens after I get my card and pin? Ans: After you acknowledge receipt of the card your card would be activated by the bank staff. After activation, the card is ready for use at all ATM and POS terminals accepting SCT cards.
- How secured is the card transaction? Ans: The transaction from the card is secured as it is authorized only by inserting the right card and by entering the right PIN number. In case of errors in transaction the card holder can check the same in his account statement and notify the same to bank. It is not always safe to keep card and PIN number together. It is also advised to change the PIN number after the receipt of the card.
- How can I know the details of card transaction? Ans: You can collect your statement of account from the bank that includes among other transactions all debits made through the card.
- Can other use my card? Ans: You are advised not to hand card to others and disclose your PIN number. The bank shall not be responsible for the use of cards by other un-authorized persons and any loss or damage arising out of such transactions to you.
- What if my card is damaged? Ans: You can report the problem to bank and you will be issued a new card at a cost of NPR 200/-.
- What happens if my debit card is lost or stolen? Ans:You will have to apply for the new PIN code and you will be provided with a new PIN at a cost of NPR 50/-
- What should I do if my ATM card gets stuck while using the card? Ans: ATM cards get stuck due to the following reasons:
a. Due to network problem
b. Due to power failure
c. If you do not remove the card within 10-12 seconds
If such problem persist then inform the bank immediately and you will get the card same day provided it was used with our own Kist ATM , and 2-3 days if used in other ATMs.- What shall I do when the cash doesn't get dispensed but my account gets debited? Ans: You should submit application with all the details including amount you entered and the place of ATM where you have used the Card. The bank will verify the transaction and refund the amount after completing all the follow ups.
- What are the charges of using Kist card at other bank's ATM machines? Ans: For all SCT members bank , charge of Rs. 25 will be applicable for each transaction and Rs.125 for VISA member banks. However Kist Bank depositors shall not be levied any charge for using Kist ATM.
- Where are the kist bank's ATM machines located? Ans: Presently we have total 30 ATMs. For more information on it, visit network section in the website.
- How long is the card valid for usage? Ans: The card is valid for 2 years after which a new card will be issued.
- What else can I do at the ATM? Ans: You can enquire the balance available in your account at any of Kist ATM's as well as SCT and non SCT member bank.
- Is it difficult to pay through the card? Ans: It as easy as paying by cash. When a purchase is completed please submit Kist SCT Card to the merchant for the payment. The merchant processes the transaction through an electronic data capture device called POS which will take about few seconds to complete the transaction. The merchant, upon getting the approval through the POS will ask you to sign on the sale slip printed by POS. Please check the details of the purchase before affixing your signature on the sale slip. Please collect the copy of the slip and the bill for your reference. Your card account gets debited instantly by the transaction amount which can be seen in your statement.
- Do I have to pay for using the card? Ans: No, you do not have to pay for using the card.
- Can I close the card on my wish? Ans: Yes, you can voluntarily close the Kist SCT Card within its validity period or upon expiry without any charge.
- What are the different types of cards Kist Bank offers? Ans:Kist Bank in collaboration with Smart Choice Technologies (SCT) provide SCT Debit Card. We are in process of issuing VISA Debit Card in near future.
- What is the difference between SCT Debit card and Visa Debit card? Ans: Visa Debit Card issued from Nepal is accepted in Nepal and India only where as SCT Debit Card issued by Kist Bank is accepted in Nepal only.
- What is the minimum amount we can withdraw at a time? Ans: You can withdraw a minimum of Rs.500 at a time in a multiple of 500 and 1000.
- What is difference between debit card and credit card? Ans: Debit Card allow you to spend only what is in your bank account .It is a quick transaction between the merchant and your personal bank account. Every time you use a credit card, you are actually borrowing money that is made available to you by a bank or other financial institution.
- What securities measure should I follow to protect my card? Ans: Following security measures should be given due consideration for secure card transaction.
- Affix the signature on the signature panel at the back of the card immediately after receiving the card.
- Do not give the card or reveal the card number and PIN number to any one under any circumstances.
- Do not use the card for mail/telephone order and internet transaction. It can be hacked.
- Inform the card issuing bank immediately incase the card is lost/stolen.
- Keep the charge slips till final settlement is made.
- Please maintain the record of the card number and telephone number of the bank separately.
- Is there name printed on the card? Ans: Yes, the name is printed on the card along with the card identification number and expiry date but for instant card no name is embossed.
